Servos !
What servos do you choose ? .... With many manufactures and many different purposes servo choice can be a little baffling !!! ..
Servos generally are designed to suit a purpose, so first you must understand what exactly you need the servo for.. Example: You may own an R/C Off Road Nitro Buggy that keeps stripping the gears in its front steering servo. A good solution here would be a metal geared servo with double ball-races for good supoort on the output gear.. Or for a more budget solution a nylon geared servo but with a metal output gear .(This is the final servo gear that the servo horn bolts too). Helicopters demand a variety of different servos, many helicopter Gyros need a fast tail servo to keep up with communication inputs. A good tail servo speed needs to be around 0.10 across 60 degrees of movement , but torque can be around 3.0kg. Whilst many begginers can get away with using standard servos for example the ones that come complete with a radio set. As the flyer progresses they will realise there need for more specific servos and what they will gain from them .
Also some gyro manufactures produce products that can work happily on a budget servo. For example the CSM 420 , and the 200 range .
Rest assured, the guys at Avicraft can advise on the correct servo for the job.
